CHINLOCK.COM EXCLUSIVE: Tommy Dreamer, Fight Network strike TV deal

House of Hardcore

House of Hardcore is coming to Fight Network in May.

In a partnership announced today by Tommy Dreamer and Fight Network, fans will now be able to watch Dreamer’s wrestling company on TV for the first time.

House of Hardcore was founded in 2012 by Dreamer, who wanted to put the emphasis back on wrestling and repay his loyal fans who supported him throughout his career.

In less than three years, Dreamer’s company has hosted eight shows and this week announced its ninth show would be held in Toronto. The company’s first show was held at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and subsequent shows have been held in Philadelphia (four times), Valley Center, Calif. and Poughkeepsie (three in total).

A television partnership was the next logical step for his company, Dreamer said. In fact, following his last show, House of Hardcore 8 in Philadelphia, Dreamer said not only was it evident that his company was ready to expand, it was insisted upon.

“Good ol’ Bully Ray put me on the spot on my House of Hardcore event and said ‘We want more eyes on this product,’ ” Dreamer said in an exclusive interview. “I said I would do my best to do it. In just, now it will be ninth show, I am able to do this and to help promote my brand in new markets all around the world.”

Fight Network will broadcast one-hour highlights from each of House of Hardcore’s first eight shows, beginning in May and running through July, culminated with the first House of Hardcore show to take place outside of the United States.

Fight Network Canada is available on all cable and satellite carriers in the country. In the U.S.A., Fight Network is carried on Cablevision’s Optimum TV (NY/NJ area), Grande Communications (Texas), Shentel (Virginia) and Armstrong (Pennsylvania); also available across North America on Roku devices.

Fight Network is also available in Portugal, Greece, Angola, Mozambique and Middle East/North Africa via OSN and in Turkey on D-Smart.

The company also owns Live Audio Wrestling, the longest running and most successful wrestling podcast/radio show in the world.

“Tommy Dreamer has a stellar reputation in the professional wrestling business and we’re excited to partner with him to bring his House of Hardcore product to television,” said Ariel Shnerer, Director of Programming at Fight Network. “Dreamer is a consummate professional and his shows constantly feature a who’s who of established stars in the industry, from Tommy himself to Team 3D, Christopher Daniels, Matt Hardy and A.J. Styles. If the buzz surrounding his brand is any indication, we expect House of Hardcore to be a hit with our viewers.”

Bring House of Hardcore to Canada comes in large part thanks to the TV deal, Dreamer said.

“Having the Fight Network behind my product, I look forward to bringing my view/perspective of professional wrestling to some of the most rabid, passionate wrestling fans in the world.” Dreamer said.

The Fight Network partnership changes everything for House of Hardcore, Dreamer admits, adding that it also adds extra pressure for him to deliver in Toronto.

“I’ve always kind of had to outdo myself and now the fact that this show will be broadcast live to the world, I’ve got to go all out again and I’m willing to accept that challenge. It’s just this amazing snowball effect. If you’re a wrestling fan and you’ve watched my shows, you know what to expect. And if you haven’t seen any of my shows, now you’re going to be able to. My wheels have already been spinning.”

Even Dreamer admits that having secured a broadcast partnership before his 10th show is a bit unexpected.

“It’s the next step,” he said of getting his product on TV. “To be there and to be where I’m at in the game, I’m blessed is the best way to say it. It’s a dream come true.”
